Flower of Life
Sacred geometry, proportions, and the universal patterns encoded in light.
Sacred Geometry and the Origins of the Pattern
Several engravings of the Flower of Life appear on the columns of the Osirion, the temple dedicated to Osiris in Abydos, Egypt.
This ancient symbol, composed of interlocking circles, forms a perfectly symmetrical hexagonal structure.
It is one of the oldest representations of universal order.
Construction of the Flower of Life
The First Circle: Light
Everything begins with a single circle — the point of origin, the Light, the unity from which all forms emerge.
The Vesica Piscis
A second circle of the same diameter is drawn on the first. Their intersection forms the Vesica Piscis, the womb of geometry.geometry, proportions, and the universal patterns encoded in light.
The Triquetra
A third circle, drawn from one of the intersections, forms the Triquetra, symbol of the first trinity.geometry, proportions, and the universal patterns encoded in light.
The Seed of Life
Repeating the process produces six circles around the central one. This is the Seed of Life, containing:
- 1 central circle → Light
- 6 surrounding circles → the six wavelengths of visible light
- 1 outer circle (invisible) → dark energy, the limit of the electron in protium
Total: 8 circles → the eight that create the nine → Life.
From the Seed of Life to the Egg of Life:
The Seed of Life (Soul)
The Seed of Life represents the soul — the first organized structure.
The Egg of Life (Spirit)
By drawing circles on each outer intersection (6), then again on the new intersections (6 more), we obtain the Egg of Life.
The 12 added circles represent:
- 12 octahedra — the first stable 3D structure of matter
- the spirit
- the electronic cloud of protium
Platonic Solids Emerging from the Seed
From the Seed of Life, one can derive in three dimensions:
- the cube
- the tetrahedron
- the octahedron
- the stellated octahedron (two opposite tetrahedra)
These are the geometric foundations of matter and symmetry.
Phi, Proportions, and the Octahedron
The Golden Ratio (Φ)
Φ = (1 + √5) / 2 It can be constructed geometrically using a 1 × 0.5 rectangle:
- diagonal = √5/2
- adding 1/2 gives Φ
A perfect bridge between geometry and proportion.fe, one can derive in three dimensions:
Height of the Octahedron
Using proportions based on Φ and square roots:
ℎ ≈ 0.9908
Almost 1 — but not exactly.
This slight deviation suggests a philosophical idea:
The universe is not rigid. It breathes. It contains the imprint of the present moment.
The Golden Angle and Electromagnetism
The Golden Angle
≈ 137.507764° It governs phyllotaxis — the arrangement of leaves, seeds, and spirals in nature.
Fine Structure Constant (α)
α ≈ 1/137.03599976 A dimensionless constant of electromagnetism.
The proximity between:
- 137° (Golden Angle)
- 1/137 (electromagnetic coupling)
is one of the most intriguing coincidences in physics.
Circle vs Gravity
360° / φ = 222.5 360 – 222.5 = 137.5
A symbolic tension between:
φ (Golden Ratio) → gravitation
the circle (2π) → electromagnetism
Pi and the Structure of the Circle
Ancient and Modern Values
π ≈ 3.141592653589793
Ancient Egypt:
π = (8/9)² × 4 = 3.16049
Archimedes’ Method
3.1408 < π < 3.1428
A remarkably precise estimate.
Degrees and Radians
A full circle is:
- 360°
- 2π radians
Conversion: radians = degrees × (π / 180)
Conclusion
The Flower of Life is more than a symbol. It is a universal matrix, a geometric language connecting:
- light
- proportion
- vibration
- matter
- cosmology
A blueprint of creation encoded in circles.
